Cut/sewCotton knit, bronze wire 2010

The Cut/sew Lamp, borrows from the fashion tropes of drape and gathering to create a pendant lamp which explores the notion of soft furnishings as a ‘comforting’ presence in the domestic interior. Cut/sew is rigidised by a triangular welded wire frame and can be manipulated in length by means of its draw-string to become more or less obtrusive in the domestic environment.

Exhibited in ‘Quotidian’ at Objectspace Gallery, Auckland, 2010
